About us

TUMAINI brings together Congolese stakeholders and prevention partners with a shared ambition: to give young people the knowledge to understand drugs, make informed choices and protect their future.

Complementary expertise, a shared ambition.

The project starts with the realities of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Priorities, resources and activities are developed with Congolese partners through a gradual process of training, piloting and evaluation.

PNLCT

National Programme for the Fight against Drug Addiction

The Congolese partner helps define national priorities and organise local stakeholders. Dr Patrice Milambo coordinates the review of the educator’s manual with the programme’s scientific commission.

FDFE

Foundation for a Drug Free Europe

FDFE contributes to exchanges between partners and supports project development, helping prepare training and share experience in drug prevention.

Drug Free World

Educational resources and tools

Drug Free World resources provide a starting point for drug information and education. Their adaptation to the DRC is being prepared with Congolese teams.

Where are we now?

The partnership has been signed. Work is focused on the implementation plan, adapting the manual and preparing an initial group of trainers. A pilot in Kinshasa is envisaged; its precise location, resources and schedule remain to be agreed.

Status update: October 2026.

An approach that develops step by step

  1. Understand the situation in the DRC
  2. Develop the white paper
  3. Agree on a charter and partnership
  4. Define the implementation master plan
  5. Test a pilot
  6. Evaluate and improve
  7. Expand progressively according to results
